A Warm Welcome To You
Inner Focus is a counselling and personal development service in Norwich established by Counsellor and Psychotherapist, Sara Bradly MA.
You may have arrived at this site today feeling somewhat unhappy, with the hope of finding something that can help with your thoughts, emotions and feelings. Rest assured you have come to the right place.
Worry, anxiety, stress, loneliness, depression, grief, anger, overwhelm affect most of us at some time in our lives. It can sometimes feel as though we are never going to be free of these uncomfortable, often painful feelings.
Sometimes we can struggle to like ourselves very much, comparing self with others, and finding ourselves lacking. With relentless attacks from an inner critical voice causing anxiety and panic, social situations can be experienced as unbearable. We may feel very lonely and isolated.
Alternatively, you may be experiencing a lack of feeling or emotion that might leave a sense of life having little meaning. You may feel demotivated and lacking in energy for life.
In addition to the above, there are many more things that can get in the way of feeling that all is well in your life. Trauma, loss, illness, disability, identity, sexuality, low self esteem, bullying, abuse, relationships, work, family, to name but a few. Some issues may be rooted in the present, and others firmly in the past. Often we can be surprised to discover that situations / relationships affecting us in the present have a link to situations / relationships in the past.
Whatever you would like to talk about in therapy you can be assured that you will be offered a safe and confidential space where you will be deeply heard and met with an open, accepting, non-judgemental attitude. Therapy lasts for as long as you feel is right for you. Both short-term and open ended therapy are available.
How Do I Know If I Need Counselling?
People often wonder if their issue is worth taking to counselling or whether it might waste the counsellor's time.
Be assured that everybody can benefit from counselling, whether they have past or recent trauma to explore or whether they want to explore something they consider to be relatively minor. No issue is insignificant. Counselling can also be utilised as a personal development resource to get to know ourselves better, and to develop a deeper self-acceptance and authenticity.
Counselling is about you - whatever your reason for seeking counselling, it is valid and has a special place in the therapy room.
